Hi my name is
Alicia Cotter!
I am a 22 year-old Licensed Esthetician and Certified Acne Specialist located at Bliss Beauty in Wyandotte, Michigan.
The way I became an esthetician was not by chance. It wasn’t because I saw someone else do it first and thought it was cool. I know deep down that it was my purpose from the day I was born.
As a little girl I always loved playing hair salon, having spa days, and even obsessed over nail art. As I got older I took interest in building my makeup collection, experimenting with application (specifically shaping my eyebrows), and loving all things skincare related.
Naturally as we get older our changing hormones can take a toll on your skin. I had a few close friends that really struggled with acne. They would see dermatologists, yet they still suffered. It felt like a taboo subject, but I always felt such sympathy for them through that insecurity. Now I have the honor of being the one they reach out to for their acne needs. If only I could’ve told them back then what I know now LOL
I had several ideas of what I wanted my career to be, but none of them sat right with me. I did very well in high school, so I just figured I would go to college like everybody else and not “waste” my scholarship opportunities.
One random day of senior year, January 2020, I was walking to lunch and saw a Douglas J. Aveda booth set up in the hallway. I saw photos of hairstylists and makeup, so I picked up a brochure. I thought “I love all this other stuff, but I don’t like hair.” That was the day I learned about estheticians
That same day I went home and booked a tour for the campus in Ann Arbor, MI. As I walked around the inside of the building I instantly knew that was where I was meant to be.
Now with over 4 years of experience, my passion is healing, clearing, and saving skin. I train and educate all my clients on how the skin works, how to take care of their skin outside of the treatment room, product usage, and skincare routines. I love establishing connections with my clients, customizing my professional abilities to fit their needs, and improving confidence in their everyday lives.
Even though I specialize in results-driven skincare, I also offer a variety of other services that cater to lashes, brows, and waxing. My goal is to help you discover the beauty of selfcare one day at a time!
